  1. The chief function of the SU Mag is to convince the masses, whose slowness of understanding needs to be given time so they may absorb information; and only constant repetition will finally succeed in imprinting an idea on their mind

  2. Good issue, small problem with the margins not leaving space for the center print but that minor problem aside a good read.

  3. I loved Latifa Akay’s library article. It was like something out of the Saturday Times/Guardian magazines. Very funny indeed!

  4. Congrats to Latifa who was nominated for the Colour Writer of the Year- as Catherine said an excellent writer!! Congrats to the whole SU Mag team on their nominations as well! Also to the Gown, QR, The Verdict and Jay Downs on PTQ!

  5. Andrew Gordon, a dabb-hand with Photoshop, must feel suicidal every time he’s involved in cobbling together a page of SU Mag.

Also, interesting that only three of the SU exec made a contribution to the mag this time. You could at least try faking unity!

  6. If you’re designing in Photoshop “SU Mag trash”, you need a good kick.

I’d feel pretty suicidal designing a magazine in photoshop.

  7. Dick,

The use of the word ‘Photoshop’ was obviously a way of inferring Andrew’s usually good artistic skills.

  8. I think it was pretty inappropriate to have the headline ‘A touchy subject’ on an article about the scandal in the Catholic Church…

Who thought that that was ok?!

  9. I believe the magazine was approved by Marketing Manager, Student Editorial team, Acting Director of the Union and 4 student officers so just shows the Union don’t seem to be censoring things after all!
