ARTS: QUBdance Showcase 2010

QUBdance is Queen’s first dance society and has been running for just over a year. With classes held weekly, it’s currently not funded by Queen’s and is therefore holding a Dance Showcase which will take place on May 5th in Mandela Hall.

The show will consist of a variety of dance performances.  The dances will range in styles varying from Hip Hop to Charleston, from Ballet to Bollywood and many others.  There will be a number of group performance, duets and solos.  Most of the performances will be performed by The QUBelite Dance Team.  The team has performed on UTV, the Helix Theatre in Dublin and competed in competitions. 

 As well as having dance performances there will be a “People Auction”.  Various people will be auctioned off, including two members of the Belfast Giants, the boys from the GAA and some of the girls from QUBdance.  There will also be a raffle with prizes from Ryan’s Restaurant on the Lisburn Road, a signed Belfast Giant’s Jersey and tickets to the Movie House.

An after party will take place in The Union and this is included in the ticket price.  If you would be interested in coming to this event you can buy your tickets for £5 at the reception desk in the Student’s Union or online at www.ticketmaster.ie.
