It is not hard to imagine a breaking story that takes the world by storm. Every news channel, newspaper and their online contingencies are covering it. Everywhere you look people are talking about the current ‘hot topic’ but then, almost as quickly as it enters our lives it disappears again. Is today’s news becoming tomorrow’s fish and chip paper?

The Odyssey Arena will host this year’s MTV Europe Music awards. This is the first time the awards have been held in Northern Ireland and will see pop, rock and hip hop royalty grace the stage to perform, present and pick up awards.

Barack Obama has finally triumphed as he has signed his landmark healthcare bill into law in a ceremony at the White House. Obama has been scrutinised since his inauguration, and the American public has been wondering when all the change that Obama proclaimed will come about for definite. However it appears he has won the battle, as this new law is aimed at insuring the millions of Americans who currently have no health insurance, and is one of the policies that Obama was determined to implement.

We are now approaching the end of the academic year, and our attention is turning to where we are going to live next year. The horror stories have started circulating about vicious landlords, inadequate houses, extortionate prices and the need to act fast. With all that in mind we gather up the people we want to live with, whether it be old friends, people from our course or people we have met through student accommodation. Together we set off and begin the hunt.

Queen’s University Players put on a hell raising performance of ‘The Screwtape Letters’ adapted for the stage by Nigel Forde from the novel by C.S. Lewis. Starring Shiraz Engineer as the cunning Screwtape and directed by the watchful eyes of Nathan Duddy and Shalom Joy Carr. The tale depicts the rise and fall of the senior devil Screwtape, whilst following the antics of her two newest students who although have much to learn, end up teaching Screwtape a lesson. Not only a truly hilarious play, it delves deeper by exploring the timeless battle of good V evil.
