On 22nd June, QUB Vice Chancellor Peter Gregson provided a brief summary to Senate on the Russell Group submission to the Browne Review. However, Shane Brogan, Students’ Union President at the time, believes that the summary failed to adequately describe what their proposals would mean for students.

SU President Shane Brogan has defended changes being made to office space in the Union amid tensions with staff and sabbaticals.

The Executive Management Committee’s weekly meeting took place today. After apologies from 3 people and a few late arrivals, a room comprising ten committee members got proceedings underway. The ‘open meeting’ (open to students and public alike) included only one non-committee member – the present writer – in addition to the Executive. The Gown’s presence resulted in VP Gareth McGreevy criticizing our publication.

A recent meeting has revealed that Students’ Union bars have seen a 13% fall in income. Sabbatical officers in attendance were also encouraged to show support for the Union by not socialising in The Bot.
